Salzburg tourists
That’s what we are today: and hitting the tourist spots on a hot day - had to be done. But having said that, most tourist groups tend to keep out of the cool museums and small back-lane cafes. So we had a whale of a time!

No pictures to show, because not allowed, but we visited Mozarts birthplace, and adult residence too. Pretty sizeable apartments really.

We hit the Don Quatier, with the obligatory walk around the Cathedral, but spent a much quieter couple of hours wondering around the museum and residence.
We wondered around the Catacombs too. Cooler and quiet. Mistakingly we thought the catacombs would be underground, but they were in caves accessed by steep narrow stairwells hewn into rock. No crowds though, so I could haul myself up the staircase easily without the pressure of people behind.

We headed home after a hot day of sight-seeing to have a siesta before dinner.
We tend to dine early, around 6.30pm. Which is a good time - able to get a table easily. The younger set head out later in the evening.
Another adventurous dinner: Starters: Smoked Tuna Carpaccio followed by Weiner Schnitzel with parsley potatoes and Beetroot and horseradish risotto, which we shared. It turned out they complimented one another perfectly.
I must look out for a recipe for the risotto. (And let the belt out another notch too!)
Finished up with a stroll by the River Salzach. Perfect balmy evening - perfect end to a perfect day.
