Sore feet for the sake of architecture!
Late start today, but we were eager to find a laundry before we started. But to no avail. Do you know, I have yet to see any washing lines - never seen laundry hanging anywhere! And we couldn’t find a laundry anywhere. So it was a case of washing our smalls in the shower! At least we managed to buy a small tube of laundry liquid, rather than use washing up liquid or shampoo!

So we didn’t set off until 11am - heading for an architectural oddity in this Baroque city. The Hundertwasser House. An apartment building designed by the painter of the same name who had the idea of forested roofs, tree tenants, and the window right of every tenant to embellish the facade around his windows. It was built in the 1980’s and is one of the most photographed buildings in the city.
Alan had earmarked a Beisl for lunch. An essential experience in Vienna apparently. Turns out to be a pub! A real old fashioned pub - almost British!
The food wasn’t bad, but Alan was in seventh heaven - he had roasted liver with onions, apples and fried potatoes!
Fuelled the tanks for the afternoons walk - to Belvedere Palace and Gardens. The Palace was built specifically to showcase art - one of the earliest art museums. It does it well. And the building itself has everything you expect from an Viennese Palace.

Stunning.
But we kept on walking.
Happened on a couple more churches: hence the sore feet! Didn’t go in - we just marvelled in the architecture.
