The Sound of Music
The weather has turned really cool - perfect for escaping the crowds that would normally throng to the Salzburg Fortress. We had looked at the weather forecaste the day we arrived so timed it that way.

The coach was huge - held about 65 people! The tour is run twice a day, sometimes putting on 2 coaches each time!

So - up yet another funicular, then walked all the narrow corridors, up and down cramped stairwells, in and out of small museum rooms, and even up to the highest turret. Pretty proud of myself for surviving that lot! And the views were certainly worth the effort.
Even managed to get a table easily in the main square for an early lunch - people watching.
Our final afternoon was spent on a bus tour - couldn’t resist it - The Sound of Music tour! A few showers of rain came over, so it was just as well we were in a coach.
We visited film locations, were shown some video clips, and even had a sing-a-long! A bit of fun. (The coach was packed!). The tour highlight for us was the drive into the Lakes and Mountain region where much of the film was shot - finishing up at a little lakeside town where the wedding was filmed in the church.

Can’t say its our cup of tea! But I guess its the only way we could see the scenery outside of the city.
Absolutely loving your blog Margaret and Alan. Photos are stunning. Thanks for sharing.
